BIOGRAPHY

I am a South African-born artist of British and Italian ancestry, living in the UK since 2001. My work is rooted in an intuitive exploration of nature, identity, and the human experience. Drawing from the natural world and personal narratives, I seek to uncover the beauty found in both the overlooked and the imperfect.
 

Much of my practice focuses on the fleeting, abstract qualities of the natural environment — the chaos, disorder, and quiet wonder embedded in wild landscapes and untamed growth. I am particularly drawn to plants often dismissed as weeds, those deemed ‘not pretty enough’ by conventional standards. Yet, these are the very plants that sustain wildlife — the ones the bees, birds, and insects return to time and again. In this way, nature mirrors society: what is ignored or deemed unconventional often holds the most vitality and truth. Through my work, I invite the viewer to see nature — and themselves — in a new light.

In addition to my love for the natural world, I am deeply interested in portraiture. Whether imagined or based on real individuals, my portraits aim to honour the inner strength and quiet beauty of each subject. I see art as a form of storytelling — a way to witness and reflect human resilience, vulnerability, and transformation.

My artistic journey began in childhood, and though I have formal training from Richmond Community Art College (Foundation in Art) and Wimbledon College of Art (University of the Arts London), I consider myself largely self-taught. Curiosity drives my practice. I explore a wide range of subjects and materials, always interested in how the process of making reveals deeper emotional and spiritual truths.

For me, creating art is not just a discipline — it’s a soul’s journey.
